all stages of treatment and recovery
- Healing for the
body:
Healing yoga supports you in staying in a caring relationship with
your body, even when you find yourself dealing with an illness or
disease. It offers a gentle and compassionate path back to movement
by providing a progressive sequence of stretches and postures that
allow you to choose the level of intensity of which your body feels
capable on any given day. The posture (asana) practice promotes stretching
and strengthening of muscles that retain stress after surgery while
the practice of relaxation encourages optimum immune system function.
- Healing for the
Heart and Spirit:
When healing from an illness it is easy to become discouraged. We
often feel depressed, anxious, angry, fearful and without control.
Through the use of meditation, guided imagery, breath work, and deep
relaxation yoga can help ease fear, anxiety and confusion. It can
help you see things more clearly and find peace in your heart and
your own inner wisdom. With yoga for healing you feel less victimized
by your illness, and more of an active participant in your own healing
and health. Through deep inward practice and meditation yoga can help
us find islands of serenity in a world that so often can seem chaotic
and harsh.
