A gentle, joyous individual, Theora, accepted me, and others like me, the totally uninitiated into class with nonjudgmental support and guidance. Aware of the potential of each of her students , she quietly offers more challenging ways to accomplish a posture for those with more experience. Theora does not expect us to be perfect. That is such a relief. She encourages us to listen to and honor our bodies. She always ask for our concerns in my case a trick knee—and encourages us to take proper care of our selves.

My experience in Theora’s healing class has been an extraordinarily positive part of my process, both physically and emotionally, over the past year. What a gift it has been to meet other women with similar medical histories, feelings, hopes and aspirations! The class has been the highlight of my week through many rough times. Theora’s open-mindedness and gentle approach really work for women of all ages.

C
ancer brought my life to a screeching halt -- practically everything changed: my relationships, my work, my image of myself, my future plans. One of the most helpful choices I made in my recovery and healing was to join Theora Ward's class, "Healing Yoga for Women Touched by Cancer". Learning yoga postures, stretching my body and spirit in the midst of a group of supportive women who have been there, is one of the best things I have done for myself. Thank you, Theora, for creating this program and being such a knowledgeable, compassionate and spiritual leader."
